Thoughts from the AMEN Pew #69

Nice.

I totally started a different blog, just didn’t get to finish it. So, ill save it for next week.

The week that was…was fast paced. New job for the wife. First summer camp for the son. Traditional work drama for me.

In a way, it feels like the clouds are lifting. I think we are headed for a good summer. Maybe I am cursing myself. Maybe not.

You know the trope of the rockstar/band that changes their sound to meet the times constantly. To where you kind of forgot why they were famous in the first place. Everyone has done this trope.

I am not sure anyone has ever done this more in real life than Lou Reed. Got one more week of records and then I am done, and I am just fine with that.

Like Genesis had plenty of bad records, but I am not sure anyone has felt more desperate than Lou.

You watch this video and tell me that there is a god that want’s Lou Reed to be Mick Jagger.

My brother told me today, “All these white people eating shrooms. Cant deal with their problems with out a microdose.”

No notes.

Speaking of which. Today was the day of too many records. Bunch of artists released shit today. Foo Fighters. Bob Dylan. But the winner of the day is definitely Ben Folds.

By just going back to the well a bit. We got an album of good shit front to back. Feels like coming home again.

I highly recommend giving it a spin.

I’m going to end it there, cause 1) I am tired and 2) I got Diablo IV to get into (full review in a few weeks on that).

For now, I am just going to enjoy a good week. I will leave you with proof that anyone can be redeemed. Even Lou.

Have a great weekend.
