My week in a nutshell.
Stomach virus passed through my house. We all got it. I was the last one, and I really thought I was going to avoid it. I cleaned the fuck out of my house. Bleached everything. Nope. Wasn’t enough.
The only saving grace is that it was just a 24 hour thing, but it really fucked over the entire week. I can’t even get liquored up today, so I call bullshit.
Without revealing too much, there was alot of shame to be had among the people I went to school with back in the day.
I reveled in it. Fucking luxuriated in it.
I will leave it to say, god damn I had a shitty week, but that made it much better.
So I rewatched The Royal Tenenbaum’s during my illness period. Holy shit, that movie aged well.
I think it may be the most insane of Wes Anderson’s movies, and in a way its the best. The sort of pretension that is the pallet that he paints in is completely destroyed in this one.
I think its either the performances or just the set pieces he wrote. But either way there is a manic energy there that I feel like he loses control of from time to time.
It has aged shockingly well.
Ok. I don’t care what the other film nerds say. I am not excited for a fucking Nightmare Alley remake. It’s just like, why the fuck would you want to do that. I could understand if there is some True Grit potential here, but I don’t think they got it.
Just watch the original Its fucking glorious
In video game land, I was informed there is new Star Trek shit.
Again, people fucking doing it wrong. Like, NOW is the time to remake some of the great ideas they had in the late 90s/early 2000s that they didn’t have the technical prowess to pull off successfully. Thats the kind of shit you should remake.
Now is the time. Do it. Do it you coward. No, you wont. Too busy hocking fucking mobile bullshit and making shitty video games. Coward. Make good shit.
This post has been in a state of being written for so long now that I am healthy enough to fuck up my health with alcohol again.
I’m calling it super short. Should have something better for next week. Maybe a review or something. Ill figure it out.
Till then, enjoy the holiday season, dear congregation. It should be a good one.
